Student Health Innovator Program
S.H.I.P. (Student Health Innovator Program)
Thank you for your interest in the Student Health Innovator Program (SHIP). The purpose of SHIP is to allow you an opportunity to help your fellow students, enhance your resume, build your volunteer hours, and most importantly, gain knowledge in the world of wellness.
In order to participate in this program, you must be at least a 2nd year student, have a minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA, and be in good academic and behavioral standing with the university. You must also be willing to commit one hour per week to the program (total of 15 hours/semester) for at least two semesters.
Students will gain knowledge and experience in communication skills, marketing, graphic design, and health education. This program is open to all majors and a health education background is not necessary. You will assist in designing wellness handouts, marketing innovator programs to other student groups, disseminating wellness information at designated areas, and serve as a health advocate for your campus.
Click here to apply for consideration. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2017.
Please note this is a student volunteer program sponsored by University Health Services and is not for academic credit. Additionally, we will be seeking your input before, during, and after completion of the program so that we may improve our overall programming and interactions with participants. We look forward to your application!
