University Health Services can evaluate, treat , manage, and prevent many common mental health concerns. Upon initial mental health patient appointments, OSU students are scheduled with a mental health consultant who provides a necessary evaluation to determine which patients can be best managed through behavioral intervention and self-management skills and which patients require a coordinated referral to other mental health services. This initial mental health consultant assessment assists in the early detection of at-risk patients with the aim of preventing further psychological or physical deterioration. Each session is $10 and can be charged to your bursar or paid with cash or card.

What to Expect

New patients will need to meet with one of our mental health consultants or providers for an intake prior to scheduling a psychiatry appointment. To schedule an appointment, login to your Patient Portal or call 405-744-7665. Once the patient has completed their mental health consultation and is established with UHS, medication management can be initiated through general clinic care or psychiatric services. Psychiatry appointments are $50 per visit.

 

Arriving at University Health Services

• Arrive 15 minutes early
• Park on the north side of the UHS building
• Register your vehicle at the front desk

Check-in Process

• Arrive 15 minutes early
  • General clinic appointments - if you are more than 5 minutes late, you will need to reschedule
  • Mental health consultant or psychiatry appointments - if you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule
• Present your student ID to the registration staff
• Complete the initial paperwork

After Your Appointment

• Any prescriptions from your health care provider can be filled at the UHS pharmacy, which is conveniently located in the lobby
• Check out at the front desk - each session is $10 (mental health consultant) and $50 (psychiatrist) and can be charged to your bursar or paid with cash or card
• Complete the satisfaction survey, which will be sent after your visit

 

Cancellation Policy

Psychiatry

Psychiatry appointments are $50 per visit. A 2-hour notice is required for cancellation of appointments, or there will be a $25 missed-appointment fee. Cancellations must be made during normal business hours by phone at 405-744-7665.

Mental Health Consultants

Should you need to cancel your appointment, please do so prior to the scheduled appointment time through the Patient Portal or by phone at 405-744-7665.
