COVID-19 Testing

What type of COVID-19 testing is performed at Health Services?

UHS utilizes rapid testing as our primary platform of testing. These are rapid tests that are administered as a nasal swab. All results are reported to the state health department and are counted as part of state and local COVID statistics.

We also have the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests. You must come into the clinic and be checked in for testing. Appointments may be limited based on demand and available slots with one of our nurses.

When can I schedule a COVID-19 test?

Appointments can be made online through our patient portal or by calling 405-744-7665. Tests are offered Monday-Friday during regular clinic hours by appointment only.

When should I get tested?

According to the CDC, the following individuals should get tested for COVID-19:

  • Individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Individuals who have come into close contact with someone with COVID-19 should be tested to check for infection at least five days after they last had close contact with someone with COVID-19. The date of the last close contact is considered day 0.

*People who have tested positive for Covid-19 within the past 3 months and recovered, do not need to be tested following an exposure if they do not develop new symptoms.
